Connect with Hawai‘i’s voyaging heritage through the Friends of Hōkūleʻa & Hawaiʻiloa Experience.

This hands-on experience invites guests to explore the legacy of traditional Hawaiian canoe building and navigation. In partnership with Friends of Hōkūleʻa & Hawaiʻiloa, participants will learn the cultural significance of these voyaging vessels and their role in Polynesian wayfinding.

Through guided instruction, guests will take part in restoring canoe elements while gaining insight into the craftsmanship, history, and ʻike (knowledge) that continue to shape these traditions today. Rooted in community, culture, and mālama, this workshop offers a meaningful way to connect with Hawai‘i beyond the shoreline.
